The kids LOVED their first experience at a waterpark. It wasn't even so much the slides or wave pool as it was just walking around in the warm water and exploring the pirate ship. For two weeks after we came home Corey asked every day if we could go to the water park - we'll definately be returning!

After reading in The Friend about a little girl and her family that have the Easter Bunny come on Friday night instead of Saturday - leaving Sunday to concentrate on the real meaning of Easter; we decided to adopt the tradition and we LOVED it! Sunday was so much more relaxing this way! However, being a new tradion and all I did forget about taking pictures in the Easter Sunday clothes. But I've now decided I'll wait until we actually get spring so that they can be outside...keep in mind this may not be until June!
So all the contestants in the snowman contest were entered into a drawing for TEN POUNDS of Jelly Belly's. Yes, ten pounds! And of course, that is the part of the competition my kids win! :) The actual winners were all creatures other than snowman, like dragons and such.
This time for a broken Collar Bone. Poor little guy has had a rough couple of months. It started in December with his stay in the hospital for Croupe. He had a twenty-four hour flu bug in January. Fell off the edge of the stairs at my parents house - we thought he broke his nose but everything looked fine the next day so we didn't take him in on that one. Split his lip; and just last weekend finished a ten-day stint of antibiotics for an ear infection.
Thank goodness for insurance!!!
A few weeks ago Corey tripped in our hallway and fell directly onto the corner of our kitchen cabinets. He split his lip all the way up to his nose. We debated for some time about wether or not to take him to the ER for stitches - in the end we decided the little round scars from the stitches would only make it look worse. Definately not worth the trauma; I think it was the right decision. There will probably always be a little scar but it's healing very nicely as you can see below.
We had the opportunity to spend all day Saturday outside as a family. It was one of the rare beautiful and warm days and we spent as much time soaking it up as we could!
We pulled the kids all over town in the sled; stopping by the manmade sledding hill and park at the gradeschool. The sledding hill is awesome - not too steep and a long, long run giving you plenty of time to slow down without anything to run into, making it very safe for the little ones. Kali and Corey LOVED it. Unfortunately I only have video of the sledding...not still shots.
The also loved the playground as usual. It's a bit different from our friends and family's playground pictures from other places in the states. We're still quite a way off from green grass, but it was still fun.
After the gradeschool we walked to the local mexican resteraunt for some tacos and encheladas followed by a stop at the sporting goods store for some Jelly Bellies. Corey fell asleep on Kali's lap on the way home, but was quick to say he wasn't sleepy any more after we got home.
I am so thankful for days like we had on Saturday. I love more than anything spending time with my family - especially outside! We live in a beautiful corner of the world and it's nice to be reminded of that every so often during the long winter months!
